In a retelling of the origin of the 3D-Man, we meet Chuck and Hal Chandler. Chuck was a test pilot and American hero, while his brother was a polio victim with similar drives and ideals, but without the physical ability to back them up in the same way. When Chuck was test piloting a new aircraft, he was captured by Skrulls, who are trying to prevent mankind's exploration of space. He escapes, but destroys the alien craft while doing so, resulting in his transformation into the 3D-Man. He now exists only as a pair of red and green images in his brother's glasses, and can be brought back to life by Hal for up to three hours at a time. When he returns this way, he demonstrates three times the speed, strength and agility of a peak human.
