Shocked to find himself recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest, Spider-Man quickly realizes that Nick Fury must have used a tranquilizer round to immobilize him. However, Fury has escaped with Nancy Rushman and Spidey has no clues as to where they've gone. Deciding to check S.H.I.E.L.D.'s New York headquarters, he tracks the building down and infiltrates it. Nick Fury, however, has other things on his mind. The Black Widow has apparently reverted to the persona of Nancy Rushman, the cover identity she used in her days as a Soviet agent, before her defection. Is she truly his ally, or is there something bigger wrong with S.H.I.E.L.D. itself?
