Happy awakens, still in Iron Man armor, to find Pepper and S.I. staff doctors over him. Realizing that he will likely have a full recovery thanks to the armor, he decides to go looking to find the captured Stark, only to be delayed by police officer Michael O'Brien, who believes that Stark staged his own kidnapping. Meanwhile, Stark learns that the Red Ghost had him captured to use S.I. technology to cure himself of his permanently intangible nature. Stark convinces him that they must go into Stark Industries, and that they can't use the Red Ghost's technology to do the job. Once there, Stark rigs a smoke bomb into the device that cures the Red Ghost, screening him long enough to put on a spare suit of Iron Man armor. He defeats the apes, but is unable to prevent the Red Ghost from trying to use his powers, resulting in a complete loss of tangibility. Returning to his offices later, he arrives just in time to see Happy Hogan collapse.
