Realizing that the Enervator is the only way to save Happy, Stark risks recreating the Freak. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happens. Stark chases the Freak, now infused with enough cobalt energy to be stronger than ever and able to project energy, through the hospital sewers and out into the open. The Freak is able to knock Stark out, and escapes, unaware that his increased cobalt energy means that he's building toward a nuclear powered explosion that could destroy the city.
